At the Westboro Learning Center, in Westborough, MA we often talk about how we are a family-oriented center. But what exactly does that mean? For us the meaning is multi-faceted.
First it means flexibility. Today’s families come in all shape and sizes, and the definition of standard working hours seems to have no standardization any more. For this reason, we offer preschool classes with flexibility. At the Westboro Learning Center, for ages 15 months through 4.9 years old, you can choose from 2, 3 or 5 days a week for your child(ren) to attend, and you can also choose full or half day classes. In addition, during the school year we also offer early drop off starting at 8:00 AM and extended day in the afternoon to 5:30 PM.
During the summer months we also offer camps for preschoolers through the primary grades, so families with multiple children can drop them off all in one spot. Our camps are fun, engaging and use thematic inquiries to pique children’s interest. This summer we are hosting My First Camp for preschoolers, Boost Camp for grades 2-3 and an Art Camp and Dance Camp for children entering grades 1-5! During the camp season we again offer a flexible format to fit different families’ needs. We have early drop-off at 8:00 AM, normal camp hours are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, then we have a Lunch Bunch hour if you wish to extend your child’s stay to 1:00 PM and finally we have an Extended Stay and Play option that runs until 5:00 PM.
Being a family-oriented center also pertains to the type of programming we offer. Here at The Westboro Learning Center, being family-oriented also means offering programs that offer families the chance to experience fun interactive events together, and help families create lasting memories. These events also give local families a chance to mingle with other families with children of the same age, helping to foster new and lasting friendships. Since we opened our doors in March of this year we have held a free Animal Adventures show open to the public and a Family Fun Expo featuring local family-oriented businesses and a live children’s music band! This month we are inviting families to join us for blueberry picking at Indian Head Farm in Berlin, MA. If you’re interested in joining us there is information here: https://www.facebook.com/events/240207560115350/ and we have a lot of ideas in mind for the upcoming fall and winter!
These are the types of family events that we plan to host throughout each calendar year. Families enrolled in our preschool or camps, or just families from our local community looking for something fun to do together are welcome to join us. Our mission states, “The Westboro Learning Center was established to support the children and families in our community. Our goal is to offer the greater community a learning center that provides a high-quality preschool, educational camps and tutoring support to help students reach their full potential, and informative workshops and events that will strengthen the bonds of families and friends.” Being a family-oriented center is just one of the ways we will achieve this.
Come see what we have to offer your family!
